There are 23 registered reserves in Armenia with the total area of (3% of RA area). 10 of them are in the territory of Lernahayastan – the Black Lake, Plane tree park, Jermuk water reserve, Jermuk and Her-her forests, Yeghegnadzor, Goris juniper forests, Getik and Boghakar reserves.  These are unique areas of nature that are protected.  They are natural measurement-sample, scientific-educational, historical, cultural, economical systems that have values. Any action that can violate their natural reproduction is prohibited:

        Recently, this kind of attention has been given to the Gnishik valley, with the unique historical-architectural value of Noravank which   is considered to be the decoration of the natural-territorial ensemble.

         Two of the RA reserves are in Lernahayastan. They are Khosrov and Shikahogh forests with the area of 39626 hectares, and also Sevan national Park with 150 000hectares area. The latter was founded in 1978 with the purpose of protecting the natural ecosystem of the Lake Sevan.
